For the opening cover of the year Creative Gen wanted to honor Ben Ryan, the founder of City splash festival. Through City Splash Ben has dedicated his life to the championing of Caribbean-Afro sounds and culture, a serviceman to the community that birthed him. The task then becomes, how do you honor a singular stead that represents so much?

 

For this shoot we editorialised Ben’s love of music, love of dancehall, and love for the culture. From the styling, grooming, and choreography we let his own musicality and personality flow through, bringing out a comfortably and joy that makes each image sing.
